Determined to show Londoners that Mexico is ‘not all about sombreros, moustaches & donkey piñatas’, owner Enrique Vivas & chef Tia (‘Aunty’) Patty have set about offering their own take on Mexican cuisine & ethnic vibes for good-timing Shoreditchers & City folk. Boho’s smart, elegant fascia doesn’t give much away, but inside it’s riotous fun with Latin beats aplenty & walls scrawled with pop art. The food, however, is serious & authentic: starters of soft-corn tortillas filled with a trio of Mayan-style pork or shredded chicken breast in chipotle sauce could lead on to hefty mains such as 24-hour marinated pork with black bean purée & rice. The drinks don’t disappoint, either – take your pick from seven margaritas, around a dozen top-notch tequilas, Modelo Especial beer or a clutch of South American wines.
