Appended to Marylebone station, this smarter-than-average sports bar does exactly what it needs to – & a little bit more. Plenty of big screens (not all showing the same thing) hang above drinkers’ heads along with ex-garments belonging to the sporting famous. Amid hot orange decor, bare brick & oddly stylish light fittings, an open kitchen pumps out breakfasts, deli boards & masses of burgers with little buckets of chips – try the Stilton & mushroom version, or customise your own. Beer is thoroughly ordinary (John Smith’s Extra Cold is the height of the excitement), but friendly service from a good number of staff – plus the fact that sport is a priority – makes this a handy place to watch the match. Pool tables downstairs are custom-built for more active participation.
