Au Ciel Patisserie & Cafe

Throughout the day, this sweet little café caters for a stream of Dulwich Village residents: from commuters grabbing a cup of Monmouth coffee, to mums treating their charges to a milkshake or smoothie. Once the early-morning rush has subsided, groups of friends might sit at a pavement table for a natter over a cappuccino & a croissant from Sally Clarke’s organic bakery. Inside, there are displays of old-fashioned sweets, French chocolates & fabulous cakes & patisserie, also courtesy of Sally Clarke. Everything on the short list of lunchtime salads, sandwiches & quiches is made on site. Settle at one of a handful of marble-topped tables, & be sure to save room for a slice of Victoria sponge, or a rosewater macaroon with a calming Tea Pigs cuppa.
