Square Meal Review of Bodean's Tower Hill ?

The oak-burning smoke pits at Bodean’s are dedicated to delivering ‘down home specials’ & all-important slow-smoked BBQ ribs with the power to reduce homesick yanks to tears of joy. Live sports from across the pond, a pumping soundtrack & frosty mugs of beer only add to the excitement of a visit to this transatlantic diner. Bodean’s is a ‘great high-energy place to start your evening & line your stomach’, though even its long-time fans fear it’s not quite what it was (ingredients can be ‘disappointing’, for instance). Even so, the much-expanded menu of culinary Americana is still darned hard to resist: wondrous helpings of ‘superb’ pulled pork, baby back ribs, BBQ chicken, sides of creamed corn & chilli cheese fries, plus deli sandwiches, steaks & burritos are pure road-trip heaven.

A Table For Two :: Bodeans – Tower Hill

In your hand you’ve got a tool of over communication. You have the means to reach hundreds of people in seconds. Technology is wonderful, but then it’s always baffling when a restaurant is given an email address that they don’t bother using. Moreover, it’s frustrating when it’s paired with bungling online booking system. However unreachable Bodean’s Tower Hill proved to be, we managed to grab a sought after mid-week table. Inside was a flurry of staff and suits, we went downstairs. Cramp and stifling, but the clientele seemed content so we decided to stick it out. Laminated menus and kitchen roll on the table, were we really in zone 1? It reeked of a poor attempt at ‘rough and ready’. The only place it was comparable to was a branch of Hooters (but less fun)...

  2. I visited Bodean’s Tower Bridge branche on a Sunday night. The restaurant consists of a bar area upstairs and a larger downstairs restaurant. The place it littered with big screens tv’s airing primairily Barclays premiership and American Football matches. When I was there the clientele consisted mostly of American expats who came to watch the NY Giants game while munching on a some slow-cooked BBQ...
