Square Meal Review of Bincho Yakitori ?

Just inside the door at Bincho, masters of the open grill fan the flames & flash-cook skewers of chicken wings, livers, & (off-menu) skin, heart & neck. Yakitori is the Japanese term for grilled chicken or duck, although you can also order pork belly, beef rib, salmon, eel, spring onion & asparagus at this fiery specialist. None of the skewers costs more than £2.50, though there’s a minimum order of a pair of each – so bills can be more than expected. The rest of the menu in this ‘relaxed, café-style’ venue is divided between rice dishes, sides such as pickled radish, tofu, & salads of mizuna leaves, sashimi or daikon. By night, Asahi draught beer flows & music pounds. It’s ‘just like being back in Japan’, according to one fan.

I think it is better than Roka. Mostly cooked on their charcoal fire, NO sushi or Maki rolls here. The Chicken and spring onion was simple and superb, pork belly was great, I had to have my arm twisted to have the eel, but it was divine.
Took a recomendation on the Saki, it was great and tasted even better out of the Cedar box!
Eat here now before it catches on.

Interesting alternative to run-of-the-mill Japanese restaurants in London. Relaxed, cafe-style vibe – felt authentic, was there with my husband & we both felt the decor & ambience was just like being back in Japan. Service a little lacking – staff not particularly friendly or attentive. Food was nice if a little pricey but was very tasty & presented well. Would have liked our tea topped up but it isn't really a restaurant as such, more like a cafe…eg. nobody said goodbye or thanks when we paid and left.

Japanese style food is hardly ever cheap, and neither is this. This, however, was absolutely delecious. Worth a return. Their Japanese-themed cocktails are yummy too. Only gripe would be that the waitresses' English was quite thickly accented, making it hard for English-speakers sometimes to understand what they were saying.

We popped into here for a girlie catchup and im so glad we decided to. The food was delicious and fresh – lots of yakitori type dishes which i love. There was a wide selection of fish and meat and everything felt light rather than soaked in sauces. The only issue was prices were per skewer – approx £1.60, but you had to order a minimum of two skewers, so the bill seemed quite confusing and i ended up thinking id been charged twice for things!

Id recommend the fried rice with egg – huge portion, fresh ingredients etc. The yakitori was very filling and it's hard to not overorder! Puddings for us were two chocolate puddings with almond ice cream – divine! Service was great and we ended up there till 11pm on a Friday night, wasnt shooed away or made to feel unwelcome despite how buzzy it was. I'd certainly return as it seems to be a great pre-theatre haunt like Busaba Ethai (though they tend to shoo you out and the deserts are a bit poor there). The food here was so delicious and fresh! Well worth a return visit.
