Vapiano

Table service could be a thing of the past if the latest dining concept to reach our shores is a success. Recently opened on the former site of Mash is Vapiano, an Italian eatery with a novel approach to service. Customers receive a chip card on arrival & place their orders directly with the chefs (working at individual stations) who perform the necessary swiping. Once finished, diners simply take their cards up to the till & pay. Pizza & pasta dishes form the backbone of the menu, offering classic combos such as ham & mushroom or carbonara alongside more adventurous options: think pasta with chicken, orange chilli sauce & bok choy. Light & airy, the spacious interior gives off a laid-back vibe, & the guarantee of being back at your desk well within the hour is likely to resonate with the area’s time-pushed workers.
