Square Meal review of Jom Makan:
Although London has a wealth of pan-Asian restaurants, only a few specialise in Malaysian food. Newcomer Jom Makan aims to make the cuisine more accessible by serving it up quickly, at fair prices & in simple but attractive surroundings. Dishes on the compact menu would benefit from a little more description, but since it's all rather tasty, there's no cause for concern. Lamb satay came nicely charred alongside a warm peanut sauce, while larger plates of red mullet curry & stir-fried chilli prawns also packed in plenty of flavour, both arriving with rice, salad & some pickled veg to pep things up. Fresh juices & a handful of wines & beers wash things down, while friendly & efficient service makes the bill seem all the more reasonable.
