The hip team behind Proud don’t like to stick to convention, so when they relocated Camden’s coolest bar a few years back they found a former horse hospital. Rather than ripping it down & starting again, they have transformed the original features into a quirky interior. The stables now house braying crowds, transforming from daytime chill-out spaces (with TVs) to private-hire annexes at night. The sizeable dance-floor is rarely empty, due to an eclectic music policy that skips from indie & punk to hip-hop & reggae. Big-ticket bands rev up the evening, & then DJs keep the energy high until the early hours. Beer, wine & spirits make up the unadventurous drinks list. Summer barbecues are served on the huge terrace, but for year-round bites head to Proud Kitchen.
