Inspired by his legendary bartending father Salvatore, Gerry Calabrese set up his own City fringe pop-art, perma-party venue. Saddle up for an English daiquiri or a Shoreditch swizzle (both built on Calabrese's own-brand coconut and grapefruit-flavoured Hoxton gin) or have a flutter on a New York pear sour (laced with Woodford Reserve bourbon). Otherwise, various alco-infusions served in china cups are fun to share with three or more friends as part of a classic afternoon tea with designer cupcakes (advance bookings only). Evening bar bites include BBQ chicken, tiger-prawn skewers and sharing platters. Cusqueña beer and many other drinks are half price all night on big-time Thursdays, when Hoxton hipsters shimmy to top DJs, transforming the downstairs room into what could be the shoot for a style mag – with a cast list to match.
