A colourful sibling of Cambio de Tercio, this Spanish joint knows how to keep the punters happy in Parsons Green. As ever, the kitchen’s reinterpretation of classic tapas provides the main draw, although the lively dining room & concertina doors inject a touch of sunshine to proceedings. Small dishes stick mainly to traditional recipes & carefully sourced ingredients – think Iberian acorn-fed hams, Galician clams, Burgos lamb & assorted ‘gourmet’ paellas (black rice with cuttlefish ink, say). The kitchen is also allowed off the leash for a few more risky numbers such as foie gras with Coca-Cola jelly & lemon air, or tuna tartare with avocado oil & herring caviar. To finish, the cold Spanish rice pudding (arroz con leche) is a good call, & the lengthy wine list is peppered with top-notch sherries & regional varietals.
