About

Karen’s Diner is an interactive restaurant where the customer is always wrong. Here you’ll be waited upon by the rudest serving staff imaginable who specialise in creative curses and uniquely personal insults, all goading you to release your inner Karen, and perhaps even ask to see the manager. However, bear in mind that the waiters are prepared to give as good as they get because, as the website states, ‘we literally don’t care.’

After the success of its Sheffield-based flagship location, this viral sensation is now opening its second UK location in Leeds. It's an absurdly fun dining experience, and as long as you’re ready to get into the spirit of things, Karen’s promises to be ‘the most fun you’ve had eating burgers, ever’.

And what about the food? Karen’s diner serves, as the name suggests, serves traditional diner fare; expect beef burgers made with Wagyu patties, chicken burgers, wings, loaded fries with an array of sides, or ‘bolt-ons’. Staff has gotten creative with the names - the burger selection includes ‘Karen’s Got Real Beef’, ‘The Fiery Karen’ and the ‘I Want To See Your Manager Karen’.

Follow this with a dessert like the seasonable waffle bowl or churro surprise, or a trademark ‘thickshake’ and wash it all down with cocktails and beer. There’s also some aptly named house shooters including ‘The Music Is Too Loud’, ‘I’ve Been Waiting 10 Minutes For Some Service’ and ‘You’ve Just Lost My Business’.

Some may be wary of the food, given the quality of the service, but Karen’s Diner ensures not to sacrifice quality for novelty.

PS: If your name is Karen and you can prove it with your ID, you can claim a free drink, probably accompanied by an eye roll and a unique insult.
