Homeslice has certainly made a name for itself with its wood-fired pizza ovens. Having already set up shop in Covent Garden and Fitzrovia, it’s now found a home in edgy Shoreditch. The 70-cover restaurant serves up just one thing and that’s massive 20in pizzas. The innovative toppings, which change periodically, are what set Homeslice apart from other run-of-the-mill pizzerias. You can mix toppings so we tried out a combo of salami, rocket and Parmesan and goat shoulder, savoy cabbage and sumac yoghurt. The goat shoulder was just the right amount of chewy and the thin bases make it easier to get through more pizza – always a good thing. Staff were happy to advise on the fun selection of cocktails and made the great recommendation of the Strawberry and Thyme Sour. There are also craft beers and house wines in measurable magnums, so you only pay for what you drink.
