About

Our 19th century traditional pub is near the picturesque village of Glenoe, between Larne and Carrickfergus, County Antrim. Since the extension of our 100 seater restaurant we have, with the help of our chef, developed the Traditional Irish Pub with exciting, contemporary fine food at reasonable prices. The old world finish to the building offers open log and peat fires which gives a friendly and relaxed atmosphere together with a relaxing and enjoyable eating experience.

Peat fires, low ceilings, and a fine selection of beers and whiskies, Billy Andy's remains true to its historic roots. Entering our 'snug' feels like taking a step back in time, seating approximately 30 people, it's the perfect location to rest those weary legs over a pint of Guinness. Our larger lounge bar hosts our Saturday Session - some of the finest Irish Musicians playing live from 3pm every Saturday.

What a disappointment

12 Members of a committee went for a christmas meal. As we hadn't been before went to web site to get the menu and prices. Called up and paid a deposit of £120. On the night the meal was strange with an effort being made to try to appear very upmarket. Bits of wood for plates for steak (very unhygienic) and spun sugar on a slate with icecream inside for a sweet. We ended up with the icecream melting and running through the lattice all over our hands. All in all the meal was edible but nowhere near what could be called good value. After our meal we collected the rest of the money from the committee, a total of £190. When I went to pay I was presented with an outstanding bill for £410. When the extra £220 was queried we were informed that there was a surcharge because it was a friday night. This surcharge was mentioned on their website but only for anyone having three courses. No mention of two courses. They then added a large surcharge because it was a "party night" (a two piece band in the corner}. This hadn't been mentioned to us, either personally or via the website. We were informed that "everybody knows there's a surcharge on party nights". As we hadn't been before we didn't know and as we were mostly pensioners we didn't want a party and just left. We ended up not paying the surcharges but even then felt that we had paid too much.

A week later I took my wife and grandaughter for their christmas meal, previously booked. We were expecting the friday surcharge. My wife ordered venison, which she loves, to be presented with two small sausages that might have been venison, but not like any venison i have ever seen. We had our meal and left. Staff were brilliant but what a rip off. Absolutely disappointed and disillusioned. Most definitely will not be back.
