With floor-to-ceiling glass on three sides, this first-floor restaurant by the docks makes the most of views over Aberdeen’s coastline and beyond. Cane chairs and crisp linen create an upmarket
conservatory feel and friendly, efficient young staff add to the sense of occasion. As you might expect from the location, fish is the main focus of chef/owner Didier Dejean’s Gallic-tinged menu.
At lunch, try scallop and tuna tartare with avruga caviar ahead of cod fillet with brandade croquette, creamed cabbage, roast garlic, thyme and veal jus, before finishing with raspberry and
vanilla-pod crème brûlée. Evening dining is on a grander scale, with the likes of truffle-infused seafood minestrone accompanied by an anchovy and cheese feuilleté, followed by pan-roasted turbot
with a Comté cheese crust, potato and celeriac mash, confit shallots and red wine sauce.
