Smart, corporate types and hotel guests are attracted to the shiny surfaces, unflappable service and eye-catching Saatchi artwork on show at this capacious, high-ceilinged restaurant within the Hyatt Regency hotel. Champagne and nibbles liven up the mood of “pleasant anonymity”, while the menu shows respect for provenance and the seasons: spring might bring Alresford watercress soup with a fried quail’s egg and ham followed by seared sea trout with peas, green asparagus and brown shrimp sauce. Burgers, steaks and other hotel staples are also in evidence, and there are good-value lunch deals involving pies and puddings. Beneath the artwork is a more loungey area with an open fire, a grand piano and appetising cakes under glass cloches. The Montagu’s all-day offer is tailor-made for the assembled company, while whisky fans will find plenty to sample in the adjoining Churchill Bar.
Working within the travel industry, I am often lucky enough to experience some absolutely fantastic dinners and cocktail receptions. One such recent event was a hosted evening with Hyatt in the Hyatt Regency – The Churchill’s Montagu Restaurant. Not only were we provided with the wonderful opportunity to dine in such an iconic hotel, but we were to dine at the Chef’s Table. It was hands one of the nicest and most delicious dining experiences I have had to date...

As the smoke is still clearing after the 4th of July fireworks to the west, it seems a good idea to let you know about the recent visit our fab friends, Becca & Becky, made to the Sex & the City par-tea at Hyatt Regency The Churchill. As you can imagine there is a strong American twist on the typical afternoon tea here so maybe this one is not for the traditionalists among you. However if you fancy something a little bit different then this is it!...

A lot of London’s top restaurants happen to be located in the capital’s best hotels. Although Locanda Locatelli in The Hyatt Regency’s The Churchill hotel tends to get more attention because of its A-list clientele (Madonna, Victoria Beckham and George Clooney are among its previous diners), The Montagu offers another upmarket eating experience within the building. The Churchill is a five-star hotel in Portman Square, Marylebone – just a stone’s throw from Oxford Street and Selfridges department store. Although being named after one of our finest Prime Ministers may suggest old world, the hotel is a light, airy space...

The quality and variety of afternoon teas in London just keeps getting better and better. Restaurants and hotels are constantly raising the bar when it comes to the creativity, flavours and artistic flair they inject into their tea time offerings. But sometimes, such abundance of choice can send you into a bit of a tizzy. The afternoon tea served at the Montagu, the very plush dining room of The five-star Hyatt Regency hotel, certainly falls into the luxe and traditional category. With seven different loose leaf teas to choose from, exceptionally decadent surroundings and a highly polished service, this is...

Did someone say brunch? I made a bee-line to The Montagu at the Hyatt Regency- The Churchill to try their five star weekend feast…The words ‘Bottomless Brunch’ are being flung around the foodosphere left, right and centre at the moment. Because one round of poached eggs and a flat white just ain’t enough to get us through a Saturday morning these days, oh no.People can’t get enough of these three or four hour feasts. Endless champagne and entertainment is synonymous with the privileged crowds and tourists of Dubai and other parts of the UAE when Friday (the start of their weekend) arrives. And...
