This spruced-up former milk-bottling factory is best tackled at quieter times – the huge sports screens & open-plan layout mean it can fill to the rafters during major football/rugby matches. When there’s room to move, it’s a fun spot to spend a night. Pool & table football provide the entertainment, perhaps accompanied by early evening two-for-one cocktails, although the choice is rather boring (mojitos, cosmos, martinis, & suchlike). There’s a 1950s-meets-warehouse vibe here, with red leather stools, whitewashed walls & communal benches. Brightly attired waitresses serve good-value food. A simple beefburger costs just £6.50 with chips, or you can pimp it up with various toppings. So-so bar snacks such as satay chicken skewers & lamb samosas are also available, but food is merely a backdrop to the boisterous drinkers’ atmosphere.
