Square Meal Review of The Foundry ?

Run in tandem with Camden’s trendy Forge Music & Arts Centre, this airy light-filled restaurant/bar is a handy spot for revellers wanting sturdy British sustenance or some ‘posh nosh’ with a European accent. ‘Gourmet ploughman’s platters’, fish and chips, curried lamb pie and T-bone steaks share the billing with pumpkin ravioli, chicken thighs stuffed with Gorgonzola or roast duck breast with caramelised apples and pomegranate sauce, while desserts offer anything from apple and cinnamon crumble to tiramisu. There are also plenty of liquid assets at the bar, including a raft of British cocktails such as ‘tea on the lawn’ (described as a ’thoroughly civilised’ combination of jasmine-infused gin, cucumber, lime, basil, sugar and soda), beers ranging from Meantime and Meteor to Moretti and Menabrea, plus an interesting assortment of Italian regional wines. Weekend brunch too.

  1. Camden Town, is the land of endless kebab and fried chicken shops and where there really aren’t many real restaurants at all. Then there is The Foundry, which is a nice little restaurant off the main stretch and away from the crowds, on Delancey Street.

    Walking in off the street, your in the bar area which also incorporates the casual dining area...
