Sandwiched between two of Edinburgh's finest boozers (the all-action Port O' Leith and grand-looking Nobles), this late-night bar and grill is in prime position to lure in the party crowd.
Comfortable and contemporary, its sprawling sofas can get stowed out at the weekend and during big sporting events, although it’s quieter midweek. As one of the city’s big-name style venues, it
puts the emphasis on lagers, wines and a slate of 18 cocktails ranging from double espresso martini and cosmopolitan to the wonderful Parma violet (vodka, Crème Yvette liqueur, peach schnapps,
lemon and orange bitters). The vast menu covers all the usual bases, from sizzling fajitas and Cajun chicken to steak sandwiches, fish and chips, goats’ cheese salad and the famous ‘rotty botty’ –
tandoori-spiced roti bread stuffed with a chilli-marinated burger, onion rings, jalapeños, raita and spicy mayo.
