Popcorn and pizza is the usual Leicester Square fodder, but tourists and theatre-going locals with more refined tastes may prefer scones, sandwiches and a pot of tea at the surprisingly soignée
Radisson Blu Edwardian on the area’s south-east corner. The Scoff & Banter eatery comes with a generous alfresco space as well as a spacious and tasteful lounge offering just a touch of exotic
opulence, courtesy of carved wood panels, dramatic flower arrangements and a cluster of paprika-toned, crushed velvet sofas. Tea (with glass of Mercier Brut Champagne if required) features a
regularly changing choice of cakes, scones with clotted cream and classic sandwiches such as cucumber, egg mayonnaise or ham. Not exactly a ‘destination’ offer, perhaps, but a welcome touch of
civilisation amid the West End’s hurly-burly.
