Glitzy Salmontini’s first branches were in Dubai and Beirut, so Belgravia’s Middle Eastern expats will be familiar with this salmon-themed concept. Explore the ubiquitous pink fish in all manner of forms as the kitchen picks up ideas from across the globe: you’ll need chopsticks, soy and ginger to tackle their Japanese-style tartare which is embellished with droplets of crunchy tempura batter, while mains might find the fish in company with tagliatelle or dressed with a French-style herb butter sauce. The menu also features some unusual salads, other seafood items (black cod, Chilean sea bass) and various grills – they knock out a mean dry-aged steak here. A funky DJ spins the decks at night, Saturdays see a bottomless Champagne brunch, and Tanqueray gin is the tipple of choice on Tuesdays. Lots of friendly, chatty staff keep everyone happy, as does the well-spread wine list.
