Those mourning the demise of Pintxo People in Brighton will be pleased that the original’s slightly leftfield ethos is alive & well in this Bloomsbury offshoot – which happily doubles up as a
trendy tapas joint & neighbourhood drinking den. Daily specials are written up on a chalkboard, while the regular menu has plenty of signature dishes including chorizo a la sidra (with cider
& apple sauce) & boquerones (marinated anchovies over potato crisps); other winners have included the hanger steak with paprika alioli, mackerel with potato salad, & luscious churros
with thick chocolate sauce (‘just too good’, exclaimed a fan). Cheery staff know their stuff, & co-owner Jason Fendick is a renowned mixologist with a talent for creating simple but effective
mixes: check out his fino sour (Tio Pepe, lemon & sugar).
