The location couldn’t be better – four miles from Bath & just minutes from junction 18 of the M4. While the heart of the Park Resort is a fine Jacobean house set in parkland, it is the Oakwood
Restaurant’s unusual setting within a former Masonic lodge that catches the eye. Exposed stone walls, fascinating stone carvings, vaulted ceilings & carved panelling appeal to an appreciative
public, who also like the relatively straightforward menu. Start with Jabugo ham, green olives, roasted pimentos & caperberries, or mackerel with marinated vegetables, star anise & saffron,
before main courses of richly cooked duck leg served with dried figs, balsamic & red wine or perhaps slow-roasted lamb shoulder with mustard & caper sauce. Desserts tend towards calorific
indulgence – dense chocolate sponge with hazelnuts & sour cream or iced toffee parfait with milk chocolate sauce.
