There are no prizes for guessing the main attraction at this highly popular, bistro-style seafood restaurant just a few minutes’ walk from Glasgow Central Station. That’s right – kilo pots of
rope-grown Scottish mussels served every which way from Moroccan, Mexican or hot-and-sour to a classic version with leeks, Dijon mustard and cream. However, following recent summer heat waves and
problems with supplies of the titular bivalve, the menu has been expanded to include a greatly extended variety of seafood in different guises. Hot seafood platters, spicy fish stew, crab pasta
with chilli, lime and coriander, pan-fried scallops with chive and crème fraîche mash are recent arrivals, along with surf ‘n’ turf riffs for the carnivorous brigade. For afters, why not ratchet up
the calories with chocolate torte or strawberry cheesecake? The food is supported by a decent choice of fish-friendly wines.
