Square Meal Review of McQueen ?

That’s ‘McQueen’ as in Steve, not Alexander. Hence, this Shoreditch bar-restaurant-club hybrid sports a look that is correspondingly more Hollywood than Hoxton edgy. In its Gothic-lite, see-and-be-seen airy main lounge, you’ll find well-made rinses for around a tenner a go; try The King of Cool (a Manhattan fuelled with Bulleit bourbon) or Afternoon Tea (a sharing cocktail combining Ketel One vodka, Earl Grey syrup and crème de framboise). If you’re not here for the full restaurant blow-out, order wine from £20 with snacks of mini fish and chips, steak sandwich or goats’ cheese salad. Ibiza-style club nights are held in the basement, where you can blow a wad on bottled spirits and mixers (from £200) or order bubbles from £14 a flute to £2,000 a bottle.
