Square Meal Review of maze ?

Maze has "kerb appeal" in spades, thanks to its broad Grosvenor Square frontage and short but elegant flight of steps from the street. Inside, it's all impeccably Gordon Ramsay – well-kept, contemporary and safe, with a self-contained sushi bar pointing up a French-Asian theme that has sustained interest since the Jason Atherton days. Readers continue to enjoy the "excellent unpretentious food" here, and Maze's small plates are still distinguished by sophistication and balance. A selection might include scallop ceviche with truffle and yuzu, roast monkfish with orzo, mussels and saffron sauce or, rather modishly, saddle of Herdwick lamb with spicy aubergine, toasted hay and raw vegetables. Desserts such as white chocolate cheesecake with lychees and pink peppercorns are more conventional, but they're good. A selection of menus requires timely perusing, and the wine list also repays close attention with multiple flights divided by style. Notable chef's table, too.

Eat With Steph :: Maze by Gordon Ramsay * | Eat With Steph

Gordon Ramsay restaurants are no strangers to the restaurant scene. Thirteen restaurants in London under is belt, but are all of them worthy of praise? Having been to a few, York and Albany, and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, ( and see Savoy Grill, Gordon Ramsay review here), I find that each restaurant is as different as it can be, to the next. I came to Maze with thefoodforker almost 2 years ago and have not been impressed enough by it to return. Bluntly sounding, Maze by Gordon Ramsay isn’t one that I would recommend if you’re looking for top notch good food. Nevertheless, it is under the reputable Ramsay name, and...

No critic could credibly review hotels and restaurants around Britain without visiting The Maze. It is perhaps one of the most famous restaurants in the world, only in part because it’s owned by that global brand, Gordon Ramsay. We decided our visit had waited long enough, so went along to try the new Wine Flight menu.
The Wine Flight is a tapas-style tasting menu that offers the opportunity to try both fine wines and fine dining. There is a set menu and a variety of wines to go with each course. The wine is selected to suit your choices, and is marketed as an ideal way to try wines from around the world.
