Square Meal Review of Mango Tree ?

Mango Tree's extravagant entrance gives way to a small bar where spiky-haired Thai bartenders are ready to indulge their clientele with devilishly potent cocktails. Meanwhile, hungry guests descend into the enormous dining space, with its plush leather banquettes, showy floral arrangements and beautiful bamboo blinds. The kitchen serves up Thai classics, but with some added panache when it comes to flavour and presentation: a green curry of corn-fed chicken, aubergine and sweet basil arrives in a freshly cut pineapple, while pad thai is gussied up with spiky spring onions, red chillis and a mound of crushed peanuts. Otherwise, order from the chef's special menu, which takes a whistle-stop tour of Thailand. Mango Tree also delivers top-class service: sleek staff armed with walkie-talkies stay unshakably polite despite the high-decibel atmosphere.

    Sybaricious :: Mango Tree

    I get peckish at about 11am and on a day where there is a dining outing on the cards I generally have a look at the restaurant's website to give myself a taste of what's to come. A mid morning foray onto Mango Tree's website was very telling. I made straight for the menu before exploring the rest of the site. As I may have mentioned (ad nauseum) before, I cannot stand the practice of putting a menu on a website but not including any prices. Its not helpful and it doesn't make you seem any more exclusive, just annoying (or suspected of being overpriced). So, in my already irked state I ventured onto some of the more...

    Her Favourite Food :: Mango Tree

    Stopped in my tracks, open mouthed wow factor swank. Yes this place looks this good! From the inviting doors to the atmospheric reception to the best bit: the spacious, warmly lit restaurant interior.

    This is a large restaurant but it certainly doesn’t feel that way. This is mainly because they have the lighting spot on, it’s not dark and dingy but at the perfect soothing level creating a cosy atmosphere amongst your table without limiting your view of the other diners around you...

  1. Mango Tree is plush, modern, and laid out over one spacious open-planned floor designed around the rules of Feng Shui. The restaurant was busy when we where there, but reckon you’d be a bit lost in the space on quieter times. There’s a funky cocktail bar near the entrance and I’d highly recommend trying one. I had a very delicious Mango Tree Fizz with amaretto, fresh mango juice and champagne...

    The Hedonist :: Review-Mango Tree

    La Hedonista and I visited the Thai restaurant Mango Tree in Belgravia on a cold and snowy February day hoping for authentic flavours and some chilli heat to warm us up. She grew up in Thailand as an American expat and on entering the room commented on how the restaurant felt like the kind of place you might find in a top end Bangkok hotel. This is not meant as a criticism as the best food is to be found either in the hotels or at the opposite end of the spectrum on the streets at the vendor stalls.The original Mango Tree is in Bangkok and there is another outlet to be found in Harrods. The executive chef is an...

  1. In the heart of Belgravia is this beautiful, spacious Thai restaurant, the Mango Tree.

    A restaurant that has enjoyed fame as it was once featured on BBC’s Masterchef as well as in The Silkworm, a novel by J.K. Rowling. Yes that’s right! More on that later.

    We started our evening off in the bar area. What a space! A modern eclectic feel with both innovative and classic cocktails, a fantastic selection of spirits, wines and beers.
