Squaremeal Review of Mamounia Lounge ?

Following a swish refurbishment, Mamoumia Lounge is back in business, delivering a heady mix of scented Middle Eastern pizzazz, pumping Arabic music, belly dancers and singers for Mayfair’s beautiful people – just add crystal chandeliers dangling from silver-leaf ceilings, copper-toned walls, mosaic floors, gaudy cocktails and some of the best shisha in town (available on the snug outdoor terrace). The kitchen plays free and easy with geography, pitching its tent in the Lebanon for mezze such as moutabal, stuffed vine leaves or hummus, then heading off to Morocco for tagines or slow-roasted shoulder of lamb with aromatic spices, dates, oranges and apricots. It also adds a dash of generic brasserie (grilled king prawns with lime, chilli and garlic), before bringing it all back home with pistachio-studded puds and sticky pastries. Partygoers will find ample clubby distraction with the beats and booze.

London Unattached - London Restaurants, London Lifestyle, London Events :: Mamounia Lounge, Mayfair, London

Mamounia Lounge Mayfair is just round the corner from Shepherd Market on Curzon Street itself. It’s the kind of place I’d be tempted to walk past unless I knew what was inside; a shame, because it’s really worth a visit. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and is now opulent, rich with mosaics, silver leaf ceilings and stunning chandeliers. Upstairs, there’s a relatively small and intimate dining area and bar, while the downstairs room provides ample space for groups and family parties. Both restaurants are lively though, with music and exotic lighting designed to recreate the buzz of the souk. There’s...

Food I Fancy :: Mamounia Lounge, Mayfair - Food I Fancy

With its dark, slick, interior and loud pumping music, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve entered into a nightclub. But no, Mamounia is a classy Middle-Eastern restaurant set in the prime location of Mayfair.

The DJ and live set, blasts modern tunes mixed with Arabian music. This fusion filters through to the menu, where a few middle-eastern dishes get a European remix. This can be seen in dishes such as the Lobster Tagine or in the Truffle Hoummous. The Lobster Tagine is a dish worth placing in the Top Ten, it’s a hit, which successfully manages to fuse strong middle-eastern flavours, with the sea saltiness...

A Girl Has to Eat - Restaurant Reviews & Food Guide :: Mamounia Lounge Mayfair

You can’t go past Mamounia Lounge Mayfair and not gawp. The heated terrace churns out continuous streams of shisha smokers – the young, beautiful and so Mayfair – languidly drinking mint tea or playing backgammon. Get through the door, and you are into hushed lights, squishy sofas and, during weekends, pan-Arabic music and belly dancers. Lounge, it certainly is.

Foodie Force :: Foodie Force: Mamounia Lounge Mayfair

One of the challenges of eating in London is that with so many restaurants sometimes finding an authentic one that serves traditional food can be difficult.

Mamounia Lounge in Mayfair offers guests an Arabic experience featuring the very best of Lebanese and Moroccan cuisines. But what I was more interested to find out was how authentic the experience would be, you see I have had some wonderful holidays in Arabia and Morocco. I hoped that Mamounia would be able to transport me back there to an electric vibe and superb food...

Located opposite Harrod’s on Brompton Road, Mamounia Lounge Knightsbridge promises Middle Eastern culinary delights, inspired cocktails, an outdoor shisha lounge and entertainment too.

Mamounia has an Arabic themed décor reflected in the patterns and mosaics. This is paired with a baroque style best demonstrated by the enormous chandeliers and red velvet drape spread across the restaurant space. This makes an interesting contrast as Mamounia isn't trying to recreate a Moroccan styled restaurant, instead it is aiming for an eclectic mix.
