Revamped and re-launched, the Made in Italy group’s Notting Hill outlet continues to deliver that chummy trattoria vibe without too many cheesy Italiano add-ons. It’s still hectic, but pick a spot
nestled in a cosy corner (or outside in summer) and buddy up the cheery Neapolitan-inspired food with some Aperol spritzes and full-bodied Campania wines. Sharing-style antipasti have yielded gutsy
melanzane parmigiana (sliced aubergine, mozzarella and basil), while homemade burrata and octopus carpaccio offer some sunnier alternatives. Wood-fired pizzas by the metre steal the headlines, but
the likes of pasta ragù are cheap, homely alternatives. Service can be a tad hit and miss, but you can’t fault the optimism – although no one is quite sure whether the downstairs sushi-style
conveyor belt of starters will ever catch on.
