Named after the Burgundian farmhouse where co-owner Richard Dupupet grew up, this bistro in Glasgow’s financial district is something of a labour of love as well as a repository for all things
Gallic. Cover versions of Edi Piaf songs drift through the speakers, the interior is all dark wood, mirrors and retro wall lights, while the menu is rich in bourgeois classics – from soupe à
l’oignon and les escargots to tarte Tatin and îles flottante. You can also indulge in plates of shredded duck confit with crushed potatoes, sea bass ‘en papillote’ with crayfish butter and
ratatouille or braised rabbit in mustard sauce on tagliatelle. Otherwise, sip vintage Burgundy and nibble on cheese or charcuterie in the relaxed lounge/bar. The owners also run L’Epicerie
Beaumartin – a deli/traiteur at 518 Great Western Road in Glasgow’s West End.
