agreeably formal service suggest that Karma prides itself on poshness. The menu also has an upmarket feel, with plenty of game & seafood on show, & curry house staples playing second fiddle
to more refined creations. Duck xacuti (spiked with star anise & poppy seeds) is rich & flavoursome, while Goan chicken vindaloo replaces the sheer heat of the Brit version with sweet &
sour notes of tamarind. Scallop moilee, cooked in a delicate sauce founded on coconut milk is also worth ordering. Prices are more reasonable than you might expect – particularly for old faithfuls
such as korma & Madras, as well as special lamb dishes.
