Squaremeal Review of Inito ?

Looking for a new spin on the Indian street-food fad, this funky East End canteen majors on roti rolls and wraps with all manner of fillings – from chicken tikka and 18-hour braised lamb to tandoori paneer with pickling spices. The kitchen keeps it brief and simple at lunchtime, with a handful of rolls, biryanis, curry bowls and a few sides. In the evening and at weekends, the menu is fleshed out with lots more curries and tandooris, plus sharing plates and nibbles ranging from chicken lollipops to samosas and aloo papri chaat. Drink ‘soft’ (mango lassi, mint tea) or ‘hard’ (Kingfisher beer, gluggable wine or bubbly). The decor is custom-built for local hipsters – expect long communal tables and box seats, with a big display counter, panels of corrugated iron and the word KARMA writ large on one wall.

Travels for Taste :: Travels for Taste: Inito

Journey into India’s by lanes without leaving London? Yes it’s possible well at least transporting your taste buds is. Simply head to London’s east end for a treat to your senses. Located a stone’s throw away from Liverpool street, @Inito_UK has the look and feel of a really cool dhabba plus an old college canteen rolled into one.
While we waited for all our friends to arrive we were served some thick and delicious lassi, I love salted lassi and this one made me greedily want another round – it’s the kind of lassi that you will happily drink and not worry about your ‘lassi moustache’

I have a tendency to get lost in parts of London I don’t know so well. The area around Liverpool Street falls firmly into that category. Walk for a few minutes and you’ll find yourself in the heart of London’s fabric markets, an area which at night is desolate, strewn with detritus from the market stalls and deserted by all but a few East London stalwarts. It’s worth making the trip though, to Inito, a quirky Indian street food cafe where I’d arranged to meet a group of food bloggers a few Saturdays ago.

Inito looks a bit like the cafe part of Roti Chai – big sharing tables, a fun bar area and funky artwork...

Inito is a tasty lil& Indian restaurant. It isn&t in the nicest location and not quite within walking distance from a train station but hey!
I already had my heart set on three dishes that I&d seen mouth watering photos of prior to visiting Inito. For starter I ordered Aloo papri chaat - it&s a delicious room temp starter with a colourful array of fresh herbs and spices that wake up the taste buds. Hubby and I are not even chickpea fans but this dish changed our minds - There&s a nice non intrusive crunch to this dish too.
