It’s difficult to decipher the signage outside this vegetarian Indian restaurant, but inside you’ll discover a narrow, well-lit room adorned with carved wooden screens & statues of deities. The mostly Gujarati & Punjabi dishes, many of them vegan, are prepared with vegetables delivered fresh daily (the same family runs the SMBS Foods store up the road) & might include crispy okra served with green chutney, or hariali paneer with assorted peppers & onions. A range of popular dosas takes the menu in a southerly direction, so for a taste of Kerala, try one of these fermented rice pancakes stuffed with spinach or pumpkin & pepped up with coriander chutney. A short selection of wines & beers heads the drinks list, but the best bet are lassis, freshly made to order.
