Diminutive, blue-fronted Inaho fits just 10 tightly packed tables in a bamboo-lined room sparsely decorated with Japanese prints. The sushi selection includes some unusual combinations including a
pickled plum & basil leaf hand roll, as well as maki rolls topped with crispy salmon skin; also don’t miss the nasu den (grilled aubergine in a satisfyingly sweet miso glaze) or prawn tempura
in a perfectly light, crispy batter. Set menus make Inaho’s authentic Japanese cuisine even more affordable: in the evening, £27 will pay for a traditional all-in feast, while lunchtime bento boxes
start at £11 – so you can afford to stretch to a Japanese beer or a shot of saké. Sparrow-sized portions will no doubt suit chopstick-thin fashion icons such as Kate Moss & Stella McCartney
–both of whom are reportedly fans.
