Square Meal Review of Dean Street Townhouse ?

You have to hand it to the Soho House Group for creating this dynamo of a place – the neighbourhood’s media goings-on would practically grind to a halt without it. The day begins over a full English and a cup of strong coffee in the buzzy ground-floor brasserie, then the area’s rakes, wordsmiths and fashionistas are back in again at lunch for more trusty British fare – mince and potatoes, grilled Dover sole, smoked haddock soufflé and rib-eye with chips are fixtures. Teatime is yet another reason to stop by (think Battenberg cake, buttered crumpets and the like), and some hardcore regulars even return after hours for cocktails and conversation. A seriously good-looking spot, the brasserie boasts capacious booths, art-lined walls and well-upholstered armchairs that combine with a pacey vibe to evoke a private club minus the membership fees – and the attitude.

fatmanclaphand :: Dean Street Townhouse: a good PG tip

Afternoon Tea (I'm capping it up, because it's a thing) at Dean Street is brilliant. Everyone should try it. Think of a wintery afternoon spent near a log fire, with cakes, sandwiches, scones, jam and clotted cream. Think of the blue porcelain china, the gentle clink of cups on saucers, the steaming tea poured by the politest, more attentive waiters I think I've ever met.

The service at Dean Street Townhouse was so polite and eager to please that there was even a sign on the toilet door that read "no need to watch the step". Unfortunately this didn't extend to taking our coats, which we were forced to dump...
