One of a clutch of bijou Tom Conran hangouts on Westbourne Park Road, Crazy Homies does its best to live up to its wacky billing with neon and Tequila-induced intensity. Brightly decorated skulls,
punchy colours and a wall of spirits all come together to create a dayglo Mexico vibe, while the place fills up with crowds of trendy young professionals who cheerily enjoy a diet of cocktails and
burritos. Tequila rules the roost, so take it in one of seven margaritas or in a Mexican spin on a classic – perhaps a suitably fiery mezcal mule or a spot-on margarita with just the right balance
of sweet, sour and salty notes. The menu deals in creditable renditions of popular Mexicana – from pork picadillo quesadillas to chorizo and butternut squash tacos or chunky baja shrimp burros –
although Crazy Homies' real attractions are its buzzy vibe, surreal setting and pumping jukebox.
Crazy Homies has the best nachos in London. While other establishments try to pass off nacho flavoured Doritos covered in half melted cheese as the real deal, Crazy Homies actually makes their tortilla chips by hand, daily. I’ve been several times before, but I recently went on Cinco de Mayo, which I think is some kind of Mexican holiday celebrating them getting rid of the French. I use it as an excuse to eat an uncomfortable amount of nachos and tacos washed down with at least three too many margaritas.
