Created by renowned chef Antonio Carluccio, you’ll find recipes created and approved by him at this casual-dining Italian restaurant. Originally set up as a food shop in 1991 selling Italian groceries, it still focuses on quality Italian flavours and dishes.
Located in Milton Keynes town centre, you can enjoy a host of dishes including carbonara (done the Italian way, without cream, of course); seafood linguine; or veal ossobuco in a red wine sauce with saffron risotto rice. As you can tell, Carluccio’s method of cooking means using the most basic of ingredients to create all the great flavours Italian cuisine prides itself on.
There are lots to pick from on the main menu, but if you have trouble deciding, the set menus make things a little easier. On the daytime one, you’ll find garlic focaccia, bruschetta, beef ragu and a chocolate bread and butter pudding – a modern take on the classic dessert.
Speaking of classic desserts, tiramisu, gelato and cannolis are all at the front and centre on Carluccio’s menu. If you prefer savoury puddings, its cheese board features a selection of Italian varieties with truffle honey and ciappe crispbread that will finish off your meal nicely. Pair these with one of its dessert wines or liqueurs such as Limoncello or Espresso Martini.
Carluccio’s even caters to vegans and vegetarians, so you no longer have to miss out on this popular cuisine. The ‘pasta e Fagioli’ and tomato bruschetta will keep you full all day.
This restaurant runs on its founder’s motto of ‘MOF MOF’ (Minimum Of Fuss, Maximum Of Flavour), and you can tell this from the exciting and varied menu. Perfect for intimate dates and family meals alike, Italian culture is inclusive of everyone when it comes to food, no matter what your age. You’ll be sure to find something on this menu that will satisfy everyone.
