There’s a touch of the Tardis about Café Koba. At first glance it appears to be an attractive coffee shop, but venture further inside & there’s a room for almost every conceivable eating &
drinking pleasure. A bar at the front caters for the ‘latte & pastries’ crowd, while a sophisticated cocktail lounge awaits upstairs & two private rooms are available for big bashes.
However, the heart of this epicurean warren is the bistro with an open kitchen serving a regularly changing line-up of European favourites. On our visit, a neat wedge of chicken liver parfait was
pleasingly smooth, before a hearty bowl of duck & Toulouse sausage cassoulet provided ample, rich satisfaction. Staff are cheerful & chatty, with an exposed chimney & cute wooden tables
pointing up the easy-going atmosphere. Excellent photography from the Brighton Camera Club is a cute gesture.
