Square Meal Review of BYOC West End ?

There’s no cocktail list at BYOC. How could there be when your bartenders – a tight team headed by mixologist Nathaniel Shenton – haven’t a clue what they’ll be serving? Everything depends on what punters bring to this tiny, candlelit, jazz-era cellar secreted away beneath a juice bar. The acronym BYOC stands for ‘bring your own cocktail (bases)’, and for £20 per head, your bartender will shake as many tipples as you can manage during your pre-booked two-hour slot. Guests are encouraged to pool their hooch, which is combined with ingredients from a creaky antique drinks trolley full of homemade syrups, tinctures, bitters and suchlike that are enlisted in the creation of bespoke cocktails tailored to taste. Curious Collins, odd Old Fashioneds and experimental Gimlets are all part of the fun.

Emma Rose Tully :: Review: BYOC | Daydreamer

About a year ago, I was taken to BYOC (which stands for Bring Your Own Cocktail) on a first date. It’s the ideal venue, dim lighting, trendy exposed brick walls, small enough to not get distracted by other drinkers and big enough to have an atmosphere.

BYOC is unique in that it’s guests are invited to bring their favourite spirits along with them for the skilled bartenders to create cocktails tailored perfectly to their taste. In essence, BYOC is a cocktail bar with no drinks menu and no alcohol to buy on the premises...
