King’s Cross ‘punch house’ VOC has broadened its appeal with the launch of a new restaurant that continues the globetrotting ethos of the old Dutch East India Company – aka Vereenigde Oo-Indische
Compagnie (VOC for short). Pitched alongside the bar, VOC Grill specialises in quality cuts of steak and seafood with lots of eclectic flavours, spices and on-trend culinary techniques tossed into
the melting pot. Rib-eye steaks are cooked sous-vide before being grilled over almond and apple wood, char-grilled duck breast might appear with an umami marinade, and fish could include pike with
dandelion salad and sea-urchin powder. The food is matched by VOC’s reinvented 17th-century punches and offbeat cocktails from the Fluid Movement team of mixologists, with a huge cigar selection
and attractive courtyard area completing the package.
