‘Champagne et plats’ is the Gallic theme behind this City concept – a tie-in between Venezuelan-born businessman-turned-restaurateur Elio Machillanda and London entrepreneur David Moore (Pied à Terre etc). The drinks list is overseen by sommelier Roberto Della Petra, a Decanter judge with experience at top venues such as Gauthier Soho and Michelin-starred L’Ortolan in Berkshire – so expect class all the way in the
form of a 120-strong line-up of sparkling wines and Champagnes, plus at least 15 by the glass. Tirage offers Franco-Peruvian plates of Cornish scallop ceviche with baba gannouj, bacon, coriander
crisp, pomegranate and sorrel emulsion to pan-fried foie gras with caramelised pear, chilli popcorn, kaffir lime and blinis. Spread over two floors, the brick-walled venue also features several
private rooms (including one sponsored by Perrier-Jouët).
