The news is out. Bournemouth now has an all-day brasserie-cum-grand cafe/bar called The Print Room, set in the one-time Daily Echo newspaper building. The double-height room where the
presses once rolled has been transformed into a bright, buzzy space brimful of art deco appeal, with light pouring in through huge reeded-glass windows. White-tiled walls, a chessboard floor,
mirrors & Swarovski chandeliers continue the theme, while much of the action centres on the long zinc-topped bar, charcuterie display & patisserie counter. The show runs all the way from
breakfast (Dorset grill, eggs Benedict, French toast) though express lunches & afternoon tea to dinner, when the lengthy crowd-pleasing repertoire features simple classics ranging from fillet
steak & bearnaise to lobster thermidor or roast cod with pea puree & curry oil. The adjoining Ink Bar offers further drinking/eating possibilities.
