The slouchy alternative vibe that defines music-festival supremos The Big Chill is reflected in their East End bar – a magnet for Brick Lane's slackers and flâneurs. Prices are not silly money: a
drink and a burger (from a limited menu that includes fish and chips and a veggie option) will set you back £8.95; beers such as Sagres or Innis & Gunn weigh in around £4, while £7 pays for
cocktails or the house punch (vodka, Champagne and fruit). Expect spontaneous disco-dancing to a mash-up of boogie beats from various tunesmiths on the decks. The crowd on sardine Saturdays is big
and chilled, despite the inevitable backlog at the bar, the assault course of shattered glass on the floor, and loos that often appear to replicate conditions on day three of a music festival.
