The relaxed approach at this vibrant Mexican bar appeals to an arty Balham gathering: the sort of folk who want some Latino tunes & decent drinks, but aren’t bothered by a venue being over-styled. Not that Tacuba is an unpleasant place to spend an evening – far from it. People here drink their beers, margaritas & mojitos in a perfectly comfortable, dimly lit room full of bright colours & groovy pictures, & the barmen are colourful characters themselves. The menu consists of fair renditions of Mexican street snacks such as burritos & tacos. Those who tuck in are seldom disappointed, but given that food isn’t the main point of this happening little place, it’s wise to stick to the simplest dishes. Linked with Barrio in Battersea Square.
