Movie smashes such as The Gangs of New York and The Great Gatsby clearly provided inspiration for this retro American restaurant and bar behemoth in the former Bank of New York.
Barmeister Nick House (Mahiki, Bodo’s Schloss etc) has teamed up with hottie Kelly Brook to create a high-spirited hive chock-full of gimmicks
straight out of a kidult theme park. The darkened downstairs lounge does a passable rendition of an antiquated Eastern Pacific Railway carriage – so all aboard this cheesy choo-choo for a bonkers
range of decent cocktails, wines and high-end fizz served by flappers in shimmy shifts: classic calls include vieux carré and prescription julep, while novelty tricks such as sticks of rock,
oil-can mugs and the likes of Monica Lewinsky (a creamy rum and Amaretto splash) mean that City revellers may well miss the last train home.
