service may hint at branding, but there’s no fudging when it comes to the food. Starters of Rossmore oysters or a trio of seafood carpaccio suggest serious intent, & the kitchen shows a
creative streak with the likes of crab ravioli with salsa verde – although most people are here for spaghetti vongole & lobster linguine. Mains such as whole sea bass with roasted fennel rarely
break the £20 barrier, & puds like chocolate tart with mascarpone weigh in around £6. Wines are surprisingly global, but unsurprisingly affordable – you’ll drink well for under £30. ‘The “sole”
of Dover Street in Mayfair’, quips one wag.
