Mushu is a boon for local dumpling addicts who don’t fancy the trip into Soho Chinatown. Choose between boiled or shallow-fried versions, all freshly made on site with assorted fillings:
traditional pork & cabbage, mixed vegetable or spicy beef & kimchi. For something more substantial, upgrade to a steaming noodle soup (again, with your choice of dumpling) or add further
small plates of five-spiced chicken wings or Shanghai-style meatballs. Away from the dumplings, the menu is largely modern Japanese: spicy edamame & miso soup ahead of prawn tempura, tuna
tataki & beef teriyaki, with some raw fish to cleanse the palate (salmon sashimi, octopus nigiri & soft-shell crab maki). Portions can seem meagre & aficionados have questioned the
authenticity of some recipes, but flavours are generally good.
