Approached via a concealed gravel driveway that curves around a tinkling fountain, Longueville Manor is one of Jersey’s hidden gems. The 13th-century house comes with plenty of traditional
trappings: wood-panelled walls, oil paintings, beamed ceilings, & a hushed, genteel atmosphere to match. The menu is rooted in classical French cooking & dishes are speckled with luxury
ingredients. Foie gras terrine with Sauternes jelly, truffle salad & toasted brioche or hand-dived scallops with slow-roast pork belly & girolles are both fine starters. To follow, local
monkfish comes wrapped in Parma ham with a delicate saffron sauce, while carpaccio of local strawberries with almond ice cream & melon caviar concludes proceedings on a fresh, fruity note. An
impressive cheese trolley assuages those after a savoury finish, while service is as demure & polite as the clientele.
