Holdsworth House is a magnificent 17th-century Jacobean manor-house, set against a backdrop of rolling Yorkshire countryside. The restaurant is a relaxed affair & the kitchen shows support for
local produce. Meals might start with risotto of wild mushroom & sugar snap peas with mascarpone, chives & parmesan wafer, followed by collar of English pork braised with cider & Granny
Smiths & served alongside saladaise potatoes. Summer fruit pudding with mascarpone ice-cream is a refreshing way to finish, though for something more savoury there’s an impressive cheese
selection including Ribblesdale oak-smoked goats’ cheese & Shepherds Purse Yorkshire Buffalo Blue. ‘Friendly service’ adds to the experience, & the venue is also popular for weddings &
conferences. Note, reservations must be made at lunchtime.
