A relatively inexpensive & easy-going slice of Tex-Mex hospitality, Cactus Blue makes a refreshing change from Chelsea’s usual upmarket cocktail haunts. It’s a capacious venue on three floors.
There’s a DJ bar at street level, with a glass rooftop that opens up to the elements on warm summer nights. The top floor offers a more intimate drinking space, while in between is the mezzanine
Mexican restaurant (open Thursdays to Saturdays). The cocktail list is rather short on excitement, although the extensive selection of Tequilas should please aficionados of the agave-based spirit;
drink it by the shot or in a tray of six (for groups or hardcore hitters). The bar food is built around a standard Tex-Mex tapas menu offering the likes of mini nachos & firecracker buffalo
chicken wings for a very reasonable £4 a pop.
