Everything is on an impressive scale at Gordon Ramsay’s stripped-down, industrial-chic City gastrodome – a favourite for business lunches, birthdays and all kinds of ‘intimate and social meet-ups’.
The buzzy atmosphere is infectious. Perch on a chair at the bar and watch plates of vibrant ceviche being prepped with production-line efficiency, or soak up the full-throated nightclub roar of the
place when it’s packed to capacity. With size comes versatility, and the stripped-back, all-purpose menu is now simpler to navigate than before. Chomp on a pizza or graze on fried sand eels with
tartare sauce, fill up with an English rose-veal chop from the Josper grill or go for grey mullet with duck-fat chips. Staff are usually chirpy, eager and courteous, although reports of ‘shoddy’,
slow service suggest it’s not always up to Gordon’s expected high standard. The lengthy global wine list is a sound selection for all palates and pockets.
Bread Street Kitchen is one of the restaurant owned by the infamous Gordon Ramsay. The atmosphere is buzzing with excitement, loud and sometime a bit too hectic but the decor really gives it that nice laid back feel perfect to start your weekend…

I would expect a restaurant by Gordon Ramsay to be like a perfume by a celebrity. That is to say, my hopes for his endeavors aren’t optimistic. Still, the endless tedium of restaurants that form part of Ramsey’s Empire must be doing fabulous things for his bottom line. Whether or not they are as rewarding to his paying customers is a test to put to Bread Street Kitchen...

Bread Street Kitchen first. Time against me I'd barely sat down before ordering the burger. The BSK short rib beef burger comes with Monterey Jack cheese and smoked tomato ketchup. Hand cut chips are ordered separately. My medium rare request was declined. Anything above medium was explained. Medium it is then. I understand there is a greater risk, but surely if I have requested it to be cooked that way I should be able to get it...

Gordon Ramsay restaurants have been like buses for me. I don't go to any for ages and then it's two in one week! I'm not a huge Ramsay fan, mainly because I doubt he's ever in the kitchen much any more. But I do love all the chefs that have come out of his kitchens - Jason Atherton, Angela Hartnett, Mark Sargent and the man overseeing Bread Street Kitchen, Stuart Gillies.I was taken to BSK this week as an 'end of project' work celebration. The restaurant is situated in the One New Change shopping precinct, the first shopping centre to be built in the City for over 150 years! The restaurant is cavernous and very loud and every table was full when we arrived on a Monday lunch time, which speaks volumes about the quality of cooking coming out of the kitchen. The restaurant has been designed to look like a warehouse, all exposed brick and duct work, but with some fabulous Art Deco touches...

As the square mile proved a mutual meeting ground, we opted for the mighty sweary’s recent venture – Bread St Kitchen. Now, when I cast my mind back to its much delayed opening, it received some pretty dire reviews that should have seen it close its kitchen almost as quickly as the customers and critics leaving it. But as its still standing and that too in such vast square footage, I’m assuming something must have changed, so off we went to break bread but mainly drink wine...

£12.50 Since Bread Street Kitchen opened last year its burger has had several tweaks to improve it. Good skills, it's now AWESOME!It's true that Bread Street Kitchen's Short Rib Burger has already made an appearance here on Burgerac, but having had a couple in recent weeks, I felt obliged to re-blog it as I now consider it to be worthy of five golden Burgerac stars...
